It was great! Another highlight was the alpine slide. We were able to talk and visit the House of 1,000 Clocks where they take their cuckoo clock making seriously. Our 8-hour tour included visiting several small town, farms, eateries and shops. Simone was able to customize our personal tour to see the sites and talk about the history, culture and geography of the region. We loved that when tour expert, Rick Steves wanted to visit and gain knowledge about the Black Forest, he searched for the best and that was Simone. As stated on her website, she always responded to our emails within 24-48 hours and was so informative about the region. All the reviews of her company were great so we emailed the owner Simon Brixel directly.
She finally ended up leaving to go back to Germany and start her own tour company. We were intrigued by a Black Forest young woman who had grown up in the Black Forest region, then came to the states after college to work.
While planning our summer trip to Germany and Austria we came across The Black Forest Tours website. Overall an amazing experience from top to bottom, very kind and considerate people running a very nice service, do not give a second thought about booking with them. Katharina was also very concerned about the health of the family member, and offered medical help if required. Due to this wonderful experience we also booked the trip to Strasbourg for next day, but unfortunately we had to cancel in last moment due to health reasons of one of the family members, but these guys were so considerate to accommodate the request without any problems. We covered many amazing spots in and around Baden-Baden which is wonderful on its own. Our tour guide Ilja was very knowledgeable and energetic, and he made sure that we are very comfortable all the time. Pickup was done in right time from our hotel, and the vehicle was very comfortable. Katharina was very kind right from the beginning, she provided a lot of details about what should we book and where should we stay around the area.
I booked my "best of Baden Baden" trip from them and It was a fantastic experience. Probably the best service around the area.
